Following the success of our inaugural Australian Renewable Heat Conference in September, we are thrilled to announce the conference will be back in Sydney in 2025!

This year we are targeting 300 attendees, again with a high number of end users. With an expanded exhibition space in our new venue in the Sydney CBD, we have more options for you to reach the the industry leaders driving the transition to renewable heat.

Visit the conference website to see speakers announced for the conference and to see the remaining sponsorship and exhibition opportunities.

97% of surveyed attendees rated the 2024 Australian Renewable Heat Conference as 'very valuable or 'extremely valuable'.

The conference will be hosted at the stunning new venue, ILUMINA, at 1 Elizabeth Street, Martin Place, Sydney.

CONFERENCE AGENDA

DAY ONE - Tuesday 26 August

 Session 1: Opening plenary

Featuring very special guest keynote speakers addressing the critical importance of decarbonising industrial heat for meeting net zero targets and supporting the success and growth of Australian industry.

Session 2: Digitalisation, AI, energy efficiency and flexible demand

The business case for renewable heat projects can be dramatically improved by integrating technologies and measures for optimising energy performance and productivity, such as digitalisation, AI, energy efficiency and load-flexing. We will hear about several end-user projects which have done just this.

Session 3: Electrification of industrial heat - using heat pumps and MVR

Heat pumps and mechanical vapour recompression are here-and-now technologies already helping Australian businesses to electrify operations and slash energy use and emissions.

Session 4: Working with retailers, networks and regulations for project success

Networks and retailers are increasingly seeking to partner and/or enable industrial renewable heat projects, recognising the positive impacts they can have networking energy management as well as supporting emission reductions for customers. We will present a number of case studies of how this is being done.

Session 5: Electrification of industrial heat – using eTES, resistance heaters, e-boilers and thermal storage

Electric heating (such as electrode boilers) is a powerful tool for industrial decarbonisation, capitalising on cheap or negatively priced excess generation from the grid. However, combining with thermal storage is a game changer. We will present examples of end-users implementing these technologies for the decarbonisation win.

DAY TWO - Wednesday 27 August

Session 6: Renewable heat – international developments & trends

Where does Australia place on the international leaderboard for industrial decarbonisation? We hear from international experts on current priorities and trends in international markets and where Australia should look to build its momentum and maintain competitiveness in a decarbonising world.

Session 7: How to enable renewable heat with research, policy, grants and incentivesRenewable heat projects that utilise all available funding and support are best placed for internal approvals and overall success. Learn about the unmissable opportunities available to industrial end-users and how to improve your chances for success.

Session 8: Biogas as a tool to decarbonise industrial heat

The potential for biogas to supply renewable heat is consistently underestimated in Australia. We will examine real-world case studies of end-users utilising available biogas resources to significantly lower energy costs and emissions.

Session 9: Biomass as a tool to decarbonise industrial heat

As a renewable heat option, biomass technologies help to answer circular economy challenges as well as energy and emission ones. Hear examples of major manufacturers integrating biomass technologies into new and existing operations and the partnerships that helped to make it happen.
