We had a fantastic day of site tours, presentations, discussions and networking to celebrate the launch of A2EP's program for decarbonising commercial buildings.
The day started with a tour of the fully electrified McKell Building near Central Station by the Cromwell Group. The tour included a tour of some very impressive heat pumps (and a spectacular view!) on the rooftop.
The tour group then moved on to UNSW Sydney's Randwick Campus to inspect the electrification measures which secured the 2025 Australian Renewable Heat Commercial Electrification Award for the university.
The next stop was 1 Elizabeth St in the Sydney CBD for the official launch of A2EP's commercial buildings program by Program Director, Peter Haenke, and CEO, Jarrod Leak. Matilde Martin from NABERS presented on updates to the NABERS Energy tool in response to the decarbonising grid and what that means for building managers and owners seeking to decarbonise.
The presentations were followed by a fascinating panel discussion with:
Jose Bilbao, UNSW Senior Manager, Energy and Utilities Management
David Deller, National Sustainability Manager, Cromwell Property Group
Connor McCauley, Head of Sustainability, Australia & New Zealand, JLL Australia
Emma Lucia, Sustainability Services Leader, Senior Principal, Acor Consultants.
You can watch a recording of the program launch presentations and panel discussion below. The sound and picture quality of the panel discussion isn't the best, but you can switch on captions to help.
