2 June 2025
A2EP's current Chair, Kylie Hargreaves, has indicated her desire to step down from the role after five years. The A2EP Board is inviting expressions of interest from candidates for the vacant Chair position.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in providing guidance to a respected and impactful not-for-profit organisation focussed on collaboration, innovation and the ‘how’ decarbonisation of energy productivity.
Role requirements
On the advice of the Nominations Committee, the Board has determined the following preferred requirements:
Appropriate experience in a non-executive Chair role, or as a non-executive director
Experience as a non-executive director in a membership-based organisation
Extensive corporate governance skills, including an AICD (or similar) qualification
Other highly desirable skills and experience would include:
Experience with government policy and working with government agencies
Experience in industrial decarbonisation, renewable energy, or other relevant area
Furthermore, it was considered preferable though not essential, that the candidate be independent, and not linked to a current A2EP member. To the extent that they were not independent, then the appointment process would be substantially different, as outlined in the information document below.
