The capability of efficient heat pumps has rapidly expanded to serve a wide range of high temperature process heat needs in manufacturing, including in the food and beverage industries.
On Thursday 3 September, Jarrod Leak, the CEO of the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity, was joined by industry experts to hear about the latest advances in both the technology and applications for industrial heat pumps.
First we received a technical presentation from Dr Cordin Arpagaus, a senior research engineer with the Institute for Energy Systems IES, NTB University of Applied Sciences of Technology Buchs in Switzerland.
During the panel discussion that followed, we heard insights from refrigeration expert Tony Kimpton and received an update on heat pump use in New Zealand from Michael Henry of the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA). This was followed by Doyle Richardson and Brian Mills from the Alliance Group detailing their experience with installing a heat pump at their Nelson site.
